(OLF News, June 12,2009) A seminar organized by the Executive Committee of OLF in Europe was held in Europe, Belgium, in the city of Antwerpen on May 23, 2009, and a public meeting of the Oromo community organized in Norway, in the capital Oslo on June 06, 2009 and both were successfully completed, OLF News correspondent reported from Europe. The chairman o OLF, Mr. Daud Ibsaa, was present on the seminar and and the public meeting and gave a detail explanation about the situation of the Oromo people’s struggle led by OLF, the political situation in Ethiopia and the Horn, the relationship of OLF with European governments and Western powers, the impact of the crisis created in OLF in 2007/2008 on Oromo people’s struggle and many other issues. Other OLF delegates present on the seminar were, Dr. Dagafaa Tuchoo, member of OLF Executive Committee, Dr. Shuggux Galataa and Mrs. Aster Gammadaa, members OLF National Council and representatives of OLF in Europe, and Mr. Dhugoomsaa Dhugaasaa former member of OLF National council.
Among the titles of the seminar organized in Antwerpen, Belgium, are
1. The problem of the absence of the rule of law in the Ethiopian empire, by Mr. Teshale Abera, a lawyer;
2. The differences created in the Oromo liberation camp and their solutions, by Dr. Alemayehu Biru, a philosophical science expert;
3. The challenges that the Oromo people’s struggle faced and the successes obtained in the past, by Mr. Dhugoomsaa Dhugaasaa, former member of OLF National Council;
4. The current situation of ORA (Oromo Relief Association), by Mrs. Lidiya Namarraa, member of OLF National Council;
5. The Role of Women in the Oromo Liberation Struggle and in social services, by Mrs. Angatuu Balchaa, artist.
On the public meeting held in Oslo, Norway, chairman of OLF, Mr. Daud Ibsaa said “the Oromo people should always make themselves ready for the upcoming political situations or changes in the Horn and around the globe in order to seize any favorable opportunity” and for this, he added, “organizational strength is crucial and therefore OLF members and other Oromo nationalist should work more than ever in order to boost the Organizational strength and capability of OLF”.
Several questions were asked from the audience of both the seminar and the public meeting and Mr. Daud Ibsaa gave appropriate answers
